Lipa City Colleges held its General Assembly for SY 2018-2019 at LCC Silvercrest Auditorium on July 17, 2018. The event focused on the recognition of the accomplishments and outstanding performances of the teaching and non-teaching employees, presentation of the plans for the upcoming school year and welcoming the new members of the LCC Family.
Dr. Marebel De La Cruz, Chief Librarian, gave her opening remarks emphasizing the importance of being one family in facing the challenges of SY 2018-2019. Ms. Lara Melissa Julian, OIC of the College of International Hospitality Management, introduced the current and new members of the LCC community from different departments as well as the manpower movements which include the internal transfer and promotion.
The special part of the assembly was the recognition of Mr. Alexander Muria Dean of the College of Criminology, for his unwavering support and untiring efforts to ensure excellent results among LCC Criminology students in the Licensure Examination for Criminologists given last June 2018 thus, catapulted Lipa City Colleges in the Top 3 position on a national level as ranked by the Professional Regulation Commission.
One of the highlights of the program is the presentation of the administration plans and updates of LCC for SY 2018-2019 as presented by Dr. Joe Vincent Abiera, VP for Administration and Corporate Affairs. The presentation focused on the improvements of facilities, employees' compensation and benefits and technological advancement.
Dr. Dina Catalina Dayon, VP for Academic Affairs, discussed the academic directions for school year 2018-2019 which include the institutionalization of OBE and the faculty development programs for the whole school year. Dr. Allan Tipan, Director of the Research and Development Office, presented the the research agenda for the school year and updates on the Research Program wherein he encouraged the faculty and staff to come up with research that can help the whole institution. Mr. Vee Jay Dalisay, faculty of the College of International Hospitality Management gave the updates of the Community Extension Program giving highlights on the support that LCC extends to its adapted barangay. The institutional events, activities and holidays were further discussed by Ms. Jobelle Umali, OIC of Culture and Sports and Student Activities and Involvement. Mr. Aldwin Jose, Director of the Marketing Communications and Scholarship Program, presented the updates on the student services.
The last part of the assembly and the most awaited was the awarding of certificates, plaques and incentives to the employees who exerted efforts in giving excellent service to the student and the institution. Certificate of Recognition was also given to all employees with academic achievements.
Dr. Linda Platero, Dean College of Education and Liberal Arts, gave her closing remarks emphasizing the importance of supporting everyone for the continuous success of Lipa City Colleges to fulfill its mission-vision and objectives.
