SHS Ushers In the School Year on a High Note

June 14, 2018. The LCC Silvercrest Senior High School officially began the school year through an Opening and Recognition Program held at the Carlos R. Mojares Gymnasium. With the theme "Back to School, Buckle Up and Rule!" the occasion consisted of two parts - an Orientation for the Grade 11 students and an Awarding Rites for last school year's academic achievers.
Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Dina Catalina C. Dayon delivered a message welcoming both the parents and the Grade 11 students and assuring them that the school shall continue to deliver on its promise of quality education. She likewise congratulated the academic achievers and challenged them to do better as they start their last year at Senior High School. After which, the members of the administration, faculty, and staff of the department were introduced.
Mr. Eric Masupil, the officer-in-charge of the Senior High School Department talked about the theme of the program, emphasizing that this school year shall see a stricter implementation of and some revision in certain school policies to better the quality of education offered by the department. He likewise introduced the new logos of the strands offered by the department namely Accountancy, Business, and Management(ABM); General Academic Strand (GAS); Home Economics (HE); Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMMS); Information and Communication Technology (ICT); and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and explained that these logos symbolize the renewed commitment of the school to provide its students with the knowledge, competencies, and character development in accordance with the thrust of the K-12 program.
Apart from the orientation / re-orientation and the bestowing of certificates to the awardees, the event was also punctuated by musical numbers rendered by the student representatives from each of the strands and a modeling of the department shirts and school uniform.
The first day of classes began on June 18.
