MPA Program Conducts Seminar on Government Management

The students of Master in Public Administration (MPA) Program, with the support of the VP for Academic Affairs, Dr. Dina Catalina C. Dayon and OIC for MBA and MPA Program, Dr. Dante O. Lubis, conducted a Seminar on Government Management with the theme "Good Governance: Benchmark to a Sustainable Economic Development" on February 24, 2018 at Mataas na Kahoy, Batangas. The seminar was attended by MPA and MBA students of Lipa City Colleges and from other neighboring Colleges and Universities.
An interactive talk was initiated by the first keynote speaker, Ms. Charie Villa, a freelance journalist, media consultant and former Head of ABS-CBN News and Online Business Regional Network Group. Ms. Villa pointed out that one of the key components of good governance is good communication. She shared her experiences and emphasized the code of ethics which should be observed by the students in their respective fields.
The second keynote speaker, Asec. Jose Antonio Hernandez, Assistant Secretary for Special Concerns of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), commended the students and organizers for the initiative to provide a platform where latest issues and concerns in public administration and governance can be shared and discussed. The main point which Asec. Anton was on poor governance, which he believes as one of the causes of underdevelopment. Asec. Anton also emphasized that the students, who are the future leaders, must serve the country with loyalty and honesty. He ended his lecture by encouraging everyone to help build a productive nation. "Ito ay Hindi Para Sa Atin, Ito ay Para sa Susunod na Henerasyon", he concluded.
The seminar ended with the closing remarks of the Class President, Mr. Rexon Dinglasan.
