SSG Ignites the Scouting Spirit among Senior High Studes

September 29 - 30, 2018. The Senior High School Department's Supreme Student Government (SSG) mounted one of its flagship projects for this school year - the Rover Scouts' Vigil and Investiture. Done in coordination with the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) - Lipa City Council, the program's objective is to introduce and develop among student the scouting values of personal discipline and socio-civic involvement and responsibility.
The activity which was held at the Carlos R. Mojares Gymnasium from 5pm of September 29 to 5am of September 30 consisted of a lecture-discussion on Rover Scouting, group dynamics and team-building, individual reflection, and was capped by the Investiture with Mr. Cesar Catapang, Head of the of the BSP - Lipa City Council, leading the 270 attendees during the Induction Ceremonies. Mr. Aldwin Jose (the school's Director for Student Services, Marketing and Scholarships), Mr. Lino Balantac (SHS Assitsant Principal), Mr. Gilbert Lucero (Rover Scouts Adviser), the Strand Coordinators, and selected faculty members were also there to help in facilitating and over-seeing the event. As per Cris Paulo Sabillo, SSG President, the Investiture shall then be followed by the election of Rover Scouts officers and a crafting of the group's program of activities. He likewise expressed his confidence that Rover Scouting would help not only in the values development of the students but also the institution as a whole especially in its vision of being an active agent in positive social change.
