The College of International Hospitality Management's triumph brings pride to Lipa City Colleges once again for bagging the championship award in the "OMEGA-ling sa Kusina" inter-collegiate cooking contest.
OMEGA Housewares, being a part of every Filipino family's lives, is still going strong in providing good quality products used in everyday chores and as part of its advertisements of their new products, an inter-school cooking competition entitled "Omega-ling sa Kusina" was held before a live audience at Robinson's Place Lipa last September 16, 2018.
There were two rounds in the competition and each round has an allotted time of 30 minutes to cook, plate, and serve one dish and drinks. CIHM were competitive enough to cook under pressure and they had maximized their time wisely. Competitors include the following institutions - STI Colleges, Royal British College and University of Batangas and fortunately, only LCC has made it to the top.
LCC's two winning teams from the CIHM Department were - TEAM A composed of Chef Elrikco Colendra (CIHM Instructor), Ms. Marie Dawn Abbygel Baccay (3rd Year HRM student) and Mr. Jhon Michael Pureza (2nd Year HRM student) with their toothsome dishes - the "Seafood Pomodoro", a seafood pasta and the "Beef Stroganoff" together with their refreshing drinks - the "Tamarind Cooler" and "Mint Mango Cooler". TEAM B is composed of Mr. Marvin Panganiban (CIHM Kitchen Custodian), Ms. Maria Vanessa Estoque (2nd Year HRM student) and Mr. Kurt Rogers Quiray (4th Year HRM student) with their mouthwatering dishes - the "Pesto Pasta Seafood" and the "Beef Stroganoff" with their revitalizing drinks - the "Pineapple-Ponkan Juice" and the "Tinola Cooler".
CIHM Team A was judged as the Omega-ling Champion for the Omega-ling na Guro Category and also one of the semi-finalists which will be competing in the grand finals while Team B hit the 2nd place. Both teams won cash prize and OMEGA's merchandise.
